Cookie SnoBall® Place Card Holders

What you need:

  • Pastry bag fitted with fine writing tip
  • Frosting*, any color
  • 2 sugar cookies, about 2 to 3 inches diameter
  • 2 lollipop or popsicle sticks
  • 1 package (3.5 ounces) white Hostess® SnoBalls® (1 package makes 2 place card holders)
  • 2 small doilies

Use frosting as glue to hold stick on back of cookie. Be sure about 3 inches of stick extends below bottom of cookie. Place cookies on counter, stick side down. Some cookies have shapes you can push right into the SnoBall® without a stick, like the corner of a star or the foot of a gingerbread man. Write a name on each cookie then decorate as desired. Allow frosting to dry.

Meanwhile, decorate SnoBalls® as desired with frosting. Set each decorated SnoBall® on a small paper doily.

To assemble, stick lollipop stick down into top of SnoBall®, positioning so cookie sits on top of SnoBall®.

Makes 2 Cookie SnoBalls® Place Card Holders.

Tip: Make enough Cookie Place Card Holders for each guest. Use any shape or flavor of cookie desired. If pink SnoBalls® are used, you may frost the SnoBall® white, then decorate as desired.

* This recipe works well with the frosting you can find at most grocery stores. You can also substitute your favorite homemade frosting recipe. A hard-drying frosting, like royal frosting, works best to attach sticks to cookies. Tubes of fine-tipped decorator frosting work best for writing names on the cookies.
